I started out as a builder, in the most literal sense. Custom fabrication, high-end residential and commercial installs, jobs where a mistake costs real money and the client is watching. For 15 years I ran complex technical projects from first conversation to final delivery: multicultural teams, suppliers, subcontractors, budgets, and always having to explain what was happening to people who didn’t speak the language of the trade. That last part turned out to be the most useful skill I picked up. What I kept noticing was that the hardest problems on a job site were never purely technical. They were about information. Who has it, where it lives, how to get it to the right person at the right time. I started building systems to fix that: project tracking, documentation workflows, process redesigns. It worked well enough that I wanted to go further. Now I run Bangbuild Solutions, where I build data integrations and automated workflows for small business clients. Same end-to-end ownership, different materials. I’m also the n8n community ambassador for NYC, running workshops and showcasing real-life workflows for automation practitioners at every level. The through line in all of it: the best technical work happens when someone is genuinely accountable to the client, not just the spec.
